A good year

¿Qué estaba haciendo hace un año?
Éste año pasaron y cambiaron muchas cosas. Una vez más: ¿Qué estaba haciendo hace un año?
Bueno, mi vieja cuenta de google fue robada y mi antiguo blog borrado, así que creé este. Tenía un empleo de medio tiempo muy interesante pero con una paga pequeña, iba a la oficina en bicicleta y estaba de vuelta a casa a la hora de la comida. De la escuela me contactaron para hacer ilustraciones en el Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, Andrej Pejic se volvió increíblemente popular y el concepto del femiman apareció en el vocabulario de todo mundo.
Entonces, apareció un nuevo empleo que sonaba genial con un poco de fast fashion y desarrollo de producto. Cambié mi empleo y mi blog empezó a ser leído por gente que no eran mis amigos cercanos, publiqué algunas ilustraciones de amigos y después de eso fui invitada a algunos eventos geniales, me obsesioné con Glenn Gould, Black Swan y con el álbum nuevo de Patrick Wolf "Lupercalia".

De repente me dí cuanta que mi trabajo nuevo era todo menos lo prometido, que hacía una hora de camino hasta el Fin del Mundo, pero no está mal tampoco, he aprendido mucho de una parte de la industria de la moda en la que no trabajaba. Entonces murió Amy Winehouse, mi tiempo se vio increíblemente reducido y dejé de hacer cosas que me gustan porque me cansaba tanto el trabajo que a no quería hacer nada más. La Fashion's Night Out de Vogue llegó a México y con las ediciones de Spetiembre llegó también el rally de Kenzo. En octubre fui a Barcelona (MUERO por volver), Halloween Fever llegó a mi puerta y mis amigos y yo fiesteamos juntos en mi cumpleaños con disfraz y todo.

La última parte del año fue marcada con mi nueva obsesión con "The Fight Club", mi cerebro se derritió con tanto k-pop y me congelé en NYC.

Bueno, esos suena como un buen año ¿no les parece? Pero he decidido que el próximo año será mejor. Leí un twit de la cuenta de Marc Jacobs "Are you having fun? If not, you gotta change a few things." Eso es TAN cierto, así que cambiaré algunas cosas. Quizá termine yendo a Estambul u obteniendo un cotrato de ilustración ¿quién sabe?
Un año nuevo es un inicio nuevo.

What was I doing a year ago?
This year many things happened and changed. And once more: what was I doing a year ago?
Well, my old google count was stolen and my old blog erased, so I created this one. I had a little part time job very interesting but with a ridiculously low pay, I went to the office on my bike and I could go back home at lunch time. From the school they contacted me for illustrate some collections from the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, Andrej Pejic became incredibly popular and the femiman concept appeared in everyone's vocabulary.
Then, a new job appeared, a new job that sounded so cool with fast fashion and product development. I changed my job and my blog began to get read by people who wasn't my close friend, I published some illustrations of friends and after that I got invited to some awesome events, got obsessed with Glenn Gould, Black Swan and the new Patrick Wolf album "Lupercalia".
Suddenly I realized my job was everything but what was promised, that I traveled an hour everyday to get to the World's End, but it wasn't bad either, I could learn a lot from a part of the fashion industry I had never worked in. Then Amy Winehouse died, my time got incredibly reduced and I stopped doing things I like 'cause I got so tired at work that I didn't want to do anything else. The Vogue's Fashion's Night Out arrived to Mexico and with the September Issue came the Kenzo rally. In October I went to Barcelona (and I'm DYING to go back!), Halloween Fever came to my door and my friends and I partied together in my birthday with costume and everything.
The very last bit of the year was marked with my new obsession "The Fight Club", my brain got melted with so much k-pop and I froze in NYC.
Well, that sounds like a good year, don't you think? But I've decided the next year will be better. I read a twit from the Marc Jacobs account "Are you having fun? If not, you gotta change a few things." That's SO true, and I'm gonna change a few things. Perhaps I could even end up going Istambul or having an awesome illustration contract. Who knows?
A new year is a new start.
