"The Last Unicorn"
Alejandra Quesada

I know I'm not the only one who liked the collection full of corset details, pretty little desses, shirts with contrast collar, pretty patterns and tomboy trousers; but also I know I' not hte only who thought that Alejandra Quesada didn't put any kind of effort in this collection with her style but without anything new. Almost kind of boring. The only really cool hint were the shoes and the prints.

"A rose for a rose"
Alejandro Carlín

A beautiful evening dress needs lot sof things: a perfect fit, the right length, beautiful fabric, fashionable colours... It's just wonderful when you look at a collection full of perfect evening dresses and suits.

"Grey Winter Days"
Carlo Demichelis

With a collection in greyscale with pops of red and camel Demichelis teaches a lesson in perfect  beautiful garments: elegant knitwear, contrast piping, shinny fabrics, big lapels... Please designers take note of this: learn that even denim and jumpers have to be perfect. The ultimate elegance in Mexico is courtesy from Mr Demichelis.

"Skin over Skin"
Veneno en la Piel

Leather and fur were the guidelines of this season for Veneno en la Piel. Used in brown, camel, olive, mustard and black gave texture and richness to a collection otherwise inconsistent.

"Sheer"
Contempo by Rafa Cuevas

There were great interesting ideas, pieces that every girl would love to have, wonderful graphics of the designers face, comfortable garments and interesting sillhouettes. Is such a shame that everything looked so poor and bad done as if it were glued by my little brother with some help from my dog. Really a shame the bad results of the garments and that the designer dared to present it in public. Fashion design is for being worn, not only for looking at it.

The "mexican inspiration" is deffinitely overated. I'm totally tired of this concept of "mexican fashion has to have traditional mexican details", I mean, is the japanese fashion all about kimono? Well, no, it is not. Nevertheless Lavín made a beautiful collection in bright shades, fashionable sillhouettes and with thousands of details on "traditional mexican" inspiration (wel not inspiration the detail is exactly the same than in traditional garments) mixed with "traditional spanish" inspiration.

"Black Magic"
Gianfranco Reni

The goth inside me was inbelievable happy when saw this collection. Leather, tulle, transparencies, 3D knitwear, twill... There were everything from dresses to tailored skirt suits, and of course elegant, wearable and with the most delicate handmade finishing details. Come on! Even if you wouldn't wear such fashion you cannot deny the mastership showed in this.

¡Vamos! Aunque no usaras ésta moda, no puedes negar la maestría mostrada en éste show.

"Chic as Dolores"
Pink Magnolia

With their young fresh vintage feeling attitude the Pink Magnolia duo created a collection full of tulle and pink for a young girl looking for old fashioned glamour: peter pan collars, knee length skirts, bustier tops... Even though they do not have an über interesting style like Alejandra Quesada, it seems they'll have great acceptance from the market.

"He Wore Black Velvet"
Ricardo Seco

It seems some designers don't realise it, but it's very delicate making a collection for both genders: the patternmaking, fitting and finishings are over exposed in one sex or another. That's why I don't understeand when it seems so simple for a designer to introduce some menswear in his/her womenswear collection without thinking much about it. From Ricardo Seco (who celebrated 10 years in fashion! So he's not a rookie anymore) we saw textures in black and grey, elegant velvet and twill, capes and short dresses in womenswear and some "interesting" details in menswear like double collars... It would have been actually intesting if his menswear looked as fine as the womenswear and those double collars didn't look like some Fashion Design fresher made it.

"Paint it Black"
Rocío Valencia

Welcome to the world of the overated. My mom would say "mucho ruido y pocas nueces" (a lot of noise and no nuts). Think about each and every rocker clisché, mix it with some unwearable clothes and add some wanna-be-Ann-Demeulemeester attitude. And there´s this collection. Lot of leather, black eyeliner, chains, feathers (too many for a detail and vey few for an actual statement) and black black black... It's kind of sad that some of the good ideas in design turned into no so good garments... The menswear is especially unwearable and the quality of the fabrics looked very poor.

"Yes, Sir!"
José María Torre

A well done collection doesn't need being spectacular or specially flamboyant. When a designer understeands his clients perfectly he knows what they look for, what they need, want, wish and a long etcetera... José María Torre knows. That's it, that simple. His collection that mixed basics and not-so-basic garments with military inspiration, fashionable suits, contrast sleeves, capes, tartan, contrast buttons and pretty blazers, showed everything his clients might need in many situations. I'll say once more: José María Torre knows.
