not so cheap but very chic

Usualmente no soy tan fan de Moschino (ninguna de sus líneas ni sus fragancias; no es que no me gusten, si no que usualmente no son mi estilo) PERO esta colección de pre-otoño 2013 de Moschino Cheap & Chic es algo que podría vestir el resto de mi vida: tacones básicos pero bonitos, brogues coloridos, vestidos lindos y detalles atrevidos. Y el pelo y maquillaje de la modelo son geniales.

Usually I'm not so fond of Moschino (not any of their lines nor fragances, it's not that I don't like it, it's just that usually it's not my style) BUT this pre-fall collection from Moschino Cheap & Chic is something I could wear the rest of my life: basic pretty heels, colourful brogues, pretty dresses and edgy details. And the model's hair and makeup are just gorgeous.

Flowers for spring? Groundbreaking.

Jonathan (de Agua para Nescafé) y yo tenemos esta especie de chiste local citando a The Devil Wears Prada y nos divertimos con TODOS los florales de primavera (en estampados, detalles, gráficos, etc.) y la gente que cree que son MUY trendy en este momento. Sí lo son. Pero con cada primavera también regresan los estampados florales.
Como sea, me encantan.

Jonathan (from Agua para Nescafé) and I have this kind of local joke with The Devil Wears Prada and we have fun with ALL of the spring flowers (in prints, detail, etc.) and the people who think they are SO trendy right now. Yes, they are. But every with spring also return the flower prints.
Anyway, I still love them.

Tal vez sin saberlo, cada temporada todos esperamos las colecciones de este diseñador escocés, aún cuando no sepas su nombre las prendas clave de sus colecciones siempre se ven en el street style, las revistas y los blogs, son referencia clave para gráficos y estampados del mercado junior y una fuente interminable de siluetas para el mercado de la mujer contemporánea.
Su colección pre-otoño 2013 no es la excepión. Tiene sencillos vestidos largos para usar en un brunch con flats o en una boda con tacones altísimos, mucho terciopelo (aquí es donde puedes cantar "she wore bluuuuuuueeeee veeeelveeeeeet" imaginando a Isabella Rosselini en lugar de Lana del Rey), cuero perfecto para la más trendy biker, insertos y mangas transparentes combinadas con telas sólidas o estampadas para un look sexy-pero-no-putesco y sacos y abrigos de apariencia sencilla pero levantados con la tela, forro, estampado o combinación perfecta.
¿Ahora entiendes? Verás mucho y por todos lados esta colección. ¿Que cuál es su nombre? Bueno, él es Christopher-yo-realemente-sé-lo-que-estoy-haciendo-Kane.

Maybe without really knowing every season we all wait for the collections by this Scottish designer, even I you don't know his name, the key itmes from his collections are always all around the street style, the magazines and blogs, they are a key reference for prints and graphics for the junior market and an endless source of silhouettes for the contempo woman market.
His pre-fall 2013 collection is no exception. It has long easy going gowns for wearing in a brunch with flats or a wedding with the highest heels, lots of velvet (you can sing now "she wore bluuuuuuueeee velveeeeet" imagining Isabella Rosselini instead of Lana del Rey), leather worth of the trendiest biker, sheer inserts and sleeves mixed with bold or printed fabrics for a sexy-not-slutty look and simple looking blazers and coats pimped with the right fabric, pattern, linning or combination.
Now you get it? You'll see a lot this collection. And his name? Well, he is Christopher-I-really-know-what-I'm-doing-Kane.

Statement Knitwear=Pringle of Scotland

Cuando piensas en tejido de punto usualmente piensas (tal vez sin saberlo) en Pringle of Scotland y sus twinsets de rombos argyle (sí, rombos de César Costa). Tal vez recuerden que esta es una de mis marcas favoritas y que AMO el tejido de punto, así que también es una de mis eternas inspiraciones. Digo, han estar haciendo esto desde 1815, esta gente conoce su chamba. Y para que tú también sepas lo que ellos hacen, te dejo algunos looks de otoño 2012 para que los ames también.

If you think about knitwear usually (even without knowing) you think about Pringle of Scotland and their classic srgyle twinsets. As you may recall, this is one of my favourite brands and as I LOVE knitwear it also is one of my everlasting inspirations. I mean, they have been doing this since 1815, these guys know their job. And for you to know what they are doing, I leave you some autumn 2012 looks to love.

Blocking with Edeline

Edeline Lee es una diseñadora canadiense residente en Londres que (como muchos de los grandes) estudió en Central Saint Martins (muero de la envidia). Sus colecciones de mujer son increíbles y súper limpias, y su especialidad son los bloques: bloques de color, bloques de tela, bloques de textura... bloques de lo-que-sea.
Aquí les dejo su más reciente colección, primavera 2013 que se acaba de presentar en Londres.

Edeline Lee is a Canadian designer based in London, and (as many of the greatest) studied at Central Saint Martins (i'm dying of envy). Her womenswear collections are stunning and super clean, and her speciality is the blocking: colour blocking, fabric blocking, texture blocking... everything blocking.

Fashion Monster

En algún momento de la vida empecé a AMAR todas las cosas de Halloween-Día-de-Muertos (digo, siento que necesito chispitas para cupcakes en forma de huesos, quiero TODO con calaveras... ¿Entienden lo que digo?). Así que cuando vi el lookbook de otoño 2012 de la tienda japonesa g.u. (que es la hermanita de Uniqlo y además es aún MÁS BARATA) me quería hiperventilar: el tema es "Fashion Monster" y si mezclas el maquillaje de Halloween con el mantra de la marca de "moda con más libertad" obtienes un styling increíble de prendas simples, cómodas y muy a la moda.
¿Qué te parece este lookbook? ¿No te hace pensar que la moda es en realidad mucho más divertida de lo que normalmente creemos?
Por cierto, la primer chica de las fotos es la famosa cantantemodeloblogger japonesa Kyari Pamyu Pamyu, quien es la MÁSTER del look extremo súper kawai. Los que escribo no tiene sentido otra vez, ¿verdad?

At some moment in life I just fell in LOVE all Halloween-Día-de-Muertos stuff (I mean, I feel I need bone sparkes for cupcakes! I want EVERYTHING with skulls! Do know what I mean?). So, when I saw the autumn 2012 lookbook from the Japanese brand g.u. (the little sister of Uniqlo, and which is even CHEAPER) I started hyperventilating: The theme is "Fashion Monster" and if you mix the Halloween makeup with the brands mantra of "fashion with more freedom" you get the awesome styling of easy going, simple yet fashionable and super cheap garments.
What do you think of this lookbook? Doesn't make you think that fashion is really funnier than we usually think?
BTW the first girl is the famous Japanese singermodelblogger Kyari Pamyu Pamyu, who is the MASTER of extreme-super-kawai styling. What I'm writing doesn't make sense again. Sorry about that ;)
