Be my Valentine... or not

I was reading The Bloggess today and I couldn't help fast draw two of her imaginary cards for her kid's school (this entry called Valentine's Day for under-achievers). You can use these for your Valentine... only I cannot assure this wil get the desired reaction.
Yes I know, I'm a fuckin' artist.

Don’t criticize people’s legs

The bicycle was an important invention of the 19th century and even more important for women's fashions (the first trousers a girl could wear were for riding a bike, so you can make an idea). This 1895 list of don'ts was published in a New York newspaper and is a wonderful way to find out people's ideas and manners expected for a girl in that fast changing world. The funny-odd part is that some of these don'ts are still somehow a good idea.
Which are your favorite ones? Mine is "Don't chew gum. Excercise your jaws in private".

Don't let the City Destroy Us

I love long weekends. Usually I sleep until it's impossible (like 2 p.m. or so). But not the last long weekend 'cause I went to the 3-streets-in-the-middle-of-nowhere small town where my mom grew up. I hadn't gone for a long time and (even though it wasn't fully spring time yet) all the flowers and green and food (oh, yes, delicious food) was even more awesome than I remembered. Nothing to do with mexico City. I leave you some photos. Remember I am not a photographer (I don't do that) so don't judge me so harsh, hum?

I'm nominated

Sí, estoy nominada. Seguro se preguntan "¿Qué? ¿Por qué? ¿Cómo?", bueno, esta es la historia. Hoy abrí mi mail y encontré esto:

Yes, I'm nominated. "What? Why? How?" you may ask, well, here's the story. I opened my mail today and I found this:

It was kind of strange 'cause since I knew about this awards I thought "Oh, is too Forever Alone to nominee my own blog, so I will not do it". And it passed. And someone else did it! I guess it was one you you, dear readers (ahahaha that sounded a little like Sade) and I'm SO happy that for some people out there think my blog is special enough to be nominated (or even win... aha) to a prize.
Thank you so much everyone (AND Privalia Mexico, of course).
You can vote HERE. I'm in the Best Original Blog category.
Do not forget to check out all the other blogs, you can find very nice surprises. I will not recommend any, just take a look at all those blogs and pick some to add to your Bloglovin or bookmarks.

And I'm SO thankful that I will share with you one of my favorite editorials with one of my favorite male models (yes, yes, I know I'm so obsessed with Ash-marry-me-with-some-more-tattoos-Stymest).

Happy Birthday Wolfie

"Happy Birthday Wolfie"
colour pencils on bond paper

Today's is Mozart's birthday (Wolfie, if you're his friend). Born in 1756 he was (and still is) the ultimate wünderkind, a music genius. How many times have your music teachers talked to you about him? Millions. As a child, I loved Wolfie's music 'cause it was so fun and he was a kid just like me (but with a wig and more talented). Actually is kind of odd when I go to the opera and they perform some Mozart, usually I sit next to a pearl-neckalce-old-lady-who-sits-all-rigid-on-her-seat and she watches the performace with such seriousness while I laugh as if it was a sticom. Dear old-lady-with-pearls: Wolfie was everything but serious! He didn't even wear a wig while everyone else did (apparently he thought his hair was too pretty for hiding it under a wig). Really, in a concert I always think "why are you SO serious?". You know, we all should enjoy more and taking ourselves ina a less serious way. Just like Wolfie. And hi super-extra-long birth name.
Finally I leave you en existencial and deep quote by Wolfie:

“Our riches, being in our brains, die with us... Unless of course someone chops off our head, in which case, we won't need them anyway.”

Chic is the new Punk

So, that's it: chic is the new punk. Or at least that's what this sticker in Harajuku, Tokyo says.
