Don’t criticize people’s legs

The bicycle was an important invention of the 19th century and even more important for women's fashions (the first trousers a girl could wear were for riding a bike, so you can make an idea). This 1895 list of don'ts was published in a New York newspaper and is a wonderful way to find out people's ideas and manners expected for a girl in that fast changing world. The funny-odd part is that some of these don'ts are still somehow a good idea.
Which are your favorite ones? Mine is "Don't chew gum. Excercise your jaws in private".
